FOUNDER & OWNER OF FORTE LAWN CARE
As a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, I bring over two decades of experience in residential lawn care and seven years of commercial service to every project. With a licensed background in turf grass applications, coupled with an undergraduate degree in accounting and a master's in business management, I offer a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking. A Canton South graduate of 2006, I further honed my leadership skills at Walsh University, earning a football scholarship and serving as team captain. Beyond my professional accomplishments, I am blessed with two wonderful children, Alivia and Adam, and enjoy spending my free time on activities like working out, woodworking, sports, campfires, and anything that involves my family.
ROOTED IN TRADITION
I started Forte Lawn Care going into my senior year of high school, but I began my business as a kid growing up at home. I grew up on the perfect training ground for lawn care. My childhood home had 11 acres to maintain, and I was expected to help take care of the property as a child. This is when I discovered my passion for lawn care! I drew a map of the property with every tree, building, fence, and other obstacles that would need to be trimmed. I then set up a “quote” to present to my parents and they became my first lawn customer. This agreement with my parents taught me responsibility, organization, communication, and hard work.
When I started my business for others in high school, I didn’t have any equipment of my own. I used my dad’s Honda 21” push mower and a broom. I began saving my earnings to buy my first walk behind mower, weedeater, blower, and trailer. I earned a football scholarship at Walsh University in North Canton and continued to run my business outside of school and football. My busy schedule in college taught me time management and advanced communication skills with my customers on my availability to service their properties.
Due to my limited time to run my business through college, my business at this stage of 22 years old was not big enough to pursue as a full time option. For the past 14 years I have operated my business and worked in finance for two organizations. Family and friends would often ask, “Which do you like better or want to do?” My response was always geared towards the opportunity to be an entrepreneur. The pandemic gave me a major break in my business because I was able to work from home in my finance job. By taking away my commute to work and utilizing lunch breaks, this gave me more flexibility and time to grow the business to a place of real consideration for full-time.
Now in 2024, I am 20 years into lawn care and the needs of residents in our area. 2025 will be the first year of a full-time pursuit of my dream. Why is this my dream? I carry Italian immigrant ties to my grandfather. He was my biggest fan and an example of hard work. Those traits were passed down to my dad. It is my belief that their sacrifice and work ethic, including serving our country in the Korean War and Vietnam, allowed me to be in the position I am today. I want to honor them the best way I can, by wearing the Forte name on my shirt, serving others, and making an impact on a weekly basis that many people don’t experience. I also have a duty to carry on that legacy and pass it down to my children. I want my children to be able to pull life lessons from me and show them how to pursue your passions at all costs.
